When to choose it
Choose this mix when you want to change a compact wool surface into a textured one. Heidifeathers uses the 36 reverse to pull more fiber up and the 40 reverse for finer wisps. Try both on a sample of the wool before finishing the visible piece.
Reverse barbs work on the return stroke. Plan which fiber is underneath if you want a contrast to show through. Keep a conventional felting needle on hand for compacting the body before working the surface texture.
